Kenyan Education Officials Engage With Elimu Students

Elimu Resource Centre (ERC) has attracted the interest and attention of the county government where we are based. Kilifi County’s Chair of the County Executive Commission for Education (on par with Canada’s provincial, or the United States’ state, minister of education), Professor Gabriel Katana, newly-appointed in January 2018, presides over three key areas of education policy and development: ICT, vocational training and early childhood education. With Elimu’s focus on digital technology to enhance education, and our plans for entrepreneurship incubation for high school graduates, the new resource centre fits well within his portfolio. He visited the full-to-capacity Centre in April and met with the young people who were there to study.

She has an active hand in charity work ranging from assisting Latino students with scholarship foundations to the development of preschools in Darfur/Chad refugee camps. In her free time, she enjoys baking, cooking, travel, running and being an active mom.
