Funding Need: Sewing Machines And Fabrics Needed

With all the hype and excitement of the move to the new Centre, we also had to make some hard decisions. The building brings with it a few new costs we didn’t have before including a watchman’s salary, higher internet fees and swimming pool maintenance. We focused on saving money in other areas, but we were not willing to drop any of our sponsored students from their studies. Nevertheless, it did mean that we could not sponsor any new sewing students in 2018. So we currently have five second year students who are continuing their sewing course and will graduate in December 2018. We need $1,300 to cover five sewing machines for them and another $300 to purchase a selection of fabrics in Term 3. Her career has always focus on children including a strong background in technology edutainment and curriculum development. She began as a teacher and grew into a leadership, Vice Principal role for both elementary and middle schools. She has two MAs in Curriculum and Instruction and Education Leadership. She has an active hand in charity work ranging from assisting Latino students with scholarship foundations to the development of preschools in Darfur/Chad refugee camps. In her free time, she enjoys baking, cooking, travel, running and being an active mom.
